Neurocognitive Testing
WNC is committed to providing comprehensive evaluations for memory loss and cognitive disorders.  Under the direction of Dr. Mariecken Fowler we are able to provide computerized Neuropsychological testing in our office's Memory Care Clinic.  Dr. Fowler is Board Certified in Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry and she personally reviews and interprets each test.  Your Neurologist may refer you for this testing for the evaluation of memory/cognitive issues.

NeuroTrax MindStreams is a computer-based cognitive assessment tool that provides accurate and timely evaluation of many cognitive processes. From this information, specific causes of cognitive changes can be diagnosed.  These causes include normal aging, Alzheimer's Disease, Mild Cognitive Impairment, other types of dementia, mood disorders and possibly sleep disorders. Due to the complexity of the brain, Neurologists need to be able to evaluate for multiple causes of memory loss/cognitive impairment. We have outstanding successes in teasing out the various factors contributing to memory loss/cognitive changes utilizing this testing.

MindStreams offers the highest degree of precision in assessing all cognitive impairment levels, mild to severe. The test is very patient-friendly and requires little orientation. Although the test is performed on a computer, it does not require the patient to know how to use one. Testing time ranges from 45-60 minutes, depending on the tests chosen.
